ERMES (Electronic Remote Module Messenger to Enhanced Safety) is an access control system for radio exposure risk areas, able to detect radiation fields and to wirelessly and remotely communicate the information outside of the controlled areas.
Operating room, where wire signs are impossible to instal, is a typical example of ERMES use. The installation of ERMES is very simple.
The device is equipped with entry plug connector that is connected to the socket on the x-ray unit.


When ERMES is powered, a signal is sent wirelessly to tablet with an specific app that may be placed in the operating room and informs the users on the radiation risk zone. The information about the radiation emission is transferred in real time to the tablet which decodes and reports it and memorises the weekly exposure time.
















In recent years interventional radiology has taken a fundamental role in many surgical procedures, given also more common use of non invasive surgical techniques which are less risky and reduce recovery time.
Besides the advantages there is a significant increase in doses absorbed by the professionals who, in most cases, are forced to perform a surgery closely with the patient who is the main source of radiation. During the surgery the surgeon observes the images on the screen of the radiological device which often stays on even during downtime without providing any diagnosis.

The solution offered by Radiation and Robotic consists in a device applicable to the surgeon's glasses, even on the shielding lenses, that allows the viewing of radiological images coming from a mobile device enabling an immediate vision overlapped on the actual imagine of the patient. This solution may contribute to a significant reduction of the dose absorbed both by patient and by the surgical workers and to cutting and optimising intervention time.

In interventional radiology, workers can absorb doses higher than those that characterize work in the nuclear industry.

For this reason, Radiation and Robotic has created a graphic application for Android that allows to evaluate the dose to workers, represented by simple icons that can be moved around the operating table, attributing in real time the relative dose-rate, even in the presence of devices. of protection such as the lead apron.
